I've made these beans many times over the years and love to hear this from my husband. I take it as the ultimate complement!
5 (15 ounce)
cans Pork & Beans, well drained
& pork removed
1 yellow
onion, diced
1 red bell
pepper, diced
4 slices
Thick cut Bacon, cut into ½ inch pieces
¼ cup
molasses
¼ cup Karo
syrup, dark
¼ cup brown
sugar
2 teaspoon
ground mustard
1 small can
tomato paste
1 teaspoon
black pepper
1 tablespoon
Olive oil
Mix all
ingredients and bake @ 275 degrees for 4 hours. Turn off oven and let beans sit
overnight in the warm oven.
